DAVAO CITY, May 17 – The Department of Trade and Industry in Davao Region (DTI-Davao Region) will convene around 80 representatives from consumer groups, local government units (LGUs), and the youth sector throughout the region to address various issues confronting the consumers.

Slated on May 18 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel here, the one-day Regional Consumer Assembly is expected to come up with resolutions that are aimed at answering the consumer concerns that have been presented by the consumer groups of the region’s four provinces and those from Davao City prior to the gab.

DTI-Davao Regional Director Marizon S. Loreto said the convergence will be an avenue for the stakeholders to gather their resources and ideas together in order to produce tangible initiatives that will redound to consumer empowerment and protection.

“We are very optimistic about producing a good output out of this convergence,” she said.

The resolutions shall be part of the discussion during the National Consumer Summit in October.
