The 2-day training/seminar is initiated by Tagum City - Human Resources Management Office (HRMO) in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross - Davao del Norte Chapter that culminated in an earthquake emergency rescue drill at the City Hall and SP building in Bonifacio St.
The 40-man group will be formed into a regular First Aider and Disaster Responders of the Local Government of Tagum that will perform emergency rescue when accident and disaster strike and help avoid further damage and injury to victims and prevent loss of lives.
The group will act as conduit of the Red Cross to the community and help strengthen the Red Cross 143 volunteerism program that aimed at organizing and training 44 volunteers in every Barangay, school and work place in the country.
The HRMO planned of providing the same group further trainings to better equip them to additional life saving techniques in different the possible disasters that may occur in the city.
Some of the newly trained First Aiders will be tapped in the upcoming DepEd’s Alternative Learning System mobile teachers’ survival skills training dubbed as ALS FEAR FACTOR. (Leo Timogan of CIO TAGUM)
