TAGUM CITY May 29—The Provincial Planning and Development Office held a two-day Coop Standards Seminar-Workshop recently in Capitol, Tagum City for the cooperative institutions in the province.
Executive Director of Davao City’s Model Coop Network Rhoda Ruth M. Pillerin facilitated the seminar in which a total of 47 coop members participated.
Adopting COOP-PESOS was considered as required by Memorandum Circular 2003-2004 under RA 9520 in the assessment/evaluation of their performance to ensure the protection of members, cooperatives and sustainability of its operations.
COOP-PESOS, which stands for Compliance, Organization, Operations & Governance, Plans/Programs and Performance-Portfolio Quality, Efficiency, Stability, Operations, Structure of Assets, aims to aide cooperatives as a supervisory, regulatory and management tool.
As part of Gov. Rodolfo P. del Rosario’s P.E.O.P.L.E. development agenda, the seminar was conducted to enable public-private partnership among local institutions and their respective communities. (Freedom Merriam D. Bolipata PIO DAVNOR)
