Agents from the Davao Oriental Provincial Drug Enforcement Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI conducted entrapment operation last May 7, 2012 at around 5:00 p.m. at Sitio Magay, Brgy. Don Martin, Mati City, Davao Oriental.
The suspect was identified as Ronald Javelona Y Lorete @ Jong-jong, 33 years old, married and a resident of Brgy. Tumoaong, Taragona, Davao Oriental. Recovered from his possession and control were approximately three (3) kilos of suspected Cannabis Sativa L otherwise known as “marijuana”.
The suspect is now detained at Mati City Police Station detention facility. While the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Philippine National Police Provincial
Crime Laboratory, Ecoland, Davao City for laboratory examination. While case for violation of Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” is being filed against the suspect.
This collaborative effort of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the community was the key in the successful apprehension of drug perpetrators operating in the Region. They will not put to justice, if it is not for the people’s continued vigilance and cooperation. These are positive indicators that they are actively participating in our anti-drug campaign.
