KAPALONG,
DAVAO DEL NORTE December 4, 2014 - The municipal officials and
employees of the local government of Kapalong headed by Mayor Edgardo L.
Timbolalong with their respective families and the rest of the participating
schools and business establishments welcomed the Christmas season with a tree
lighting contest last December 1, 2014.
The
tree lighting contest is an annual event that shows creativity and
collaboration among the employees of the local, provincial and national offices
stationed in Kapalongincluding other agencies that participated.
The
trees within the municipal hall premises were adorned with different Christmas
lights and lanterns using recycled materials.
Mayor
Timbol bared that this has already been a tradition of the local government
under his administration which the people of Kapalong are waiting
for every December as it provides avenue of bonding time for families and
friends during night time.
The
program for the tree lighting contest was also highlighted with the
presentation of talents of offices clustered in 15 groups. Giving away of door
prizes was also part of the program which delighted much the employees.
The
Accounting, Planning/Environment and Natural Resources and Tourism Offices got
the 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
For
the talent presentations, the KALAHI and Budget Office Cluster won the first
prize followed by the Administrator’s Office and Bureau of Fire Protection
Cluster and the Engineering group.
The
PNP Region XI Band added attraction to the celebration. (cj – MIO Kapalong)
