Bus operators mulls putting CCTVS in terminals, buses



DAVAO CITY- The Southern Mindanao Bus Operators Association (SM BOA) in Davao City revealed on a press conference held yesterday (December 18, 2014) at the Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) the plans of putting up CCTV cameras in every entrances and exits of bus terminals including buses.

This CCTV s wuld be to enhance security of the riding public.

Task Force Davao was strengthening their checkpoint operations after the bus-bombing incident in some places of Mindanao where many innocent people were killed.

They will also review the driver’s failure to observe the protocol of not picking-up any passengers and to check the bags of the people before entering the terminal.

The said Conference was attended by SM BOA President Jimmy Uy, Bus Operators, LTO, LTFRB and Traffic Management Group.

PSCC chied Francisco Villaroman said that there is an incident in Digos and other areas in Bansalan wherein 2 passengers disembark before the terminal, about 500 meters away after which two busses exploded. 

The SM BOA president Jimmy Uy also agreed to install CCTVS in all their buses. He also added that it’s good to have designated bus stop for picking-up passengers.  (Glessamel Ramos PIA intern)
