DAVAO
CITY- The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council will be
on augmentation mode for areas which will be hity by Tropical
Storm Hagupit (Typhoon Ruby).

Brigadier General Loreto Rirao, chairperson of the RDRRMC said that based on
the latest PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services
Administration) reports Davao Region will be spared from the typhoon, thus the
plan of action is now placed providing support to areas which will be
affected by the typhoon.
Based
on PAGASA bulletin issued at around 11 am today (December 5) Typhoon Ruby is
expected to make a landfall in Samar before noon of December 6.
"We
will be adding more focus on preparing the responders and also our help to
these areas, now that we are certain we won't be hit by the typhoon."
Rirao said. Still the RDRRMC will still monitor the typhoon 24/7.
"We
are ready to respond, our commitment nakahanda na (ready).
"From
the focus on preparing for the typhoon, the council has decided that we would
augment those areas which will be affected." Rirao said.
According
to PAGASA Typhoon Ruby's estimated amount of rainfall is heavy to intense
(from 7.5 mm per hour to 20 mm per hour) within the 400-km diameter of the
storm.
During
a RDRRMC meeting held today (Dec. 5) the council discussed aspects like
possible evacuation centers, communications, power, transportation among
