PANABO CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE, January 12, 2015 - Strengthening
the Educational Program, Panabo City Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. recently led
the Inaugural Blessing and Turnover Ceremony of the Two New School Buildings at
Barangay Sto. Nińo, Elementary School.
The two-storey school building has six classrooms while the one
storey building has two rooms that can cater 60 students per classroom. In his
message, Mayor Silvosa plans to construct concrete flooring around the school
area for a more and easy access to main roads.
The construction aims to transfer the students to a spacious
venue that will provide the students a more comfortable place to study. Since
2004 Panabo Central School was the temporary place of Sto. Nińo Elementary
School.
According to Sto.Nińo Elementary School Principal Julius L.
Suelto that the project gave fulfillment of the dreams of its constituents in
the quest for basic quality education that is conducive for teaching and
learning.
Sto.Nino Barangay Chairman Felicisima Dalagan, also expresses
her heartfelt gratitude to the Mayor Silvosa and to stakeholders for funding
the school buildings. She also thanks the School Board Officials and for
supplying the necessary needs in the said building.
Panabo City School Division Superintendent Dr. Maria Ines
Asuncion gladly accepts the new facility and she guarantees to take good care
of the buildings.
“We are thankful to the LGU Panabo for funding almost 78% of the
project and I’m asking the parent, students and teachers to cooperate and to
help each other in the upcoming Brigada Eskwela,” Dr. Asuncion said.
The new school buildings were funded under Special Education
Fund (SEF) amounting to 11.5M to accommodate around 500 students Dr. Asuncion
also revealed that the Sto.Nino Elementary School will be their entry to the
National Brigada Eskwela 2015 for the small category in the competition.
