DAVAO DEL NORTE, January 16, 2014 (PIA) - - The provincial
government here converts the grounds fronting the main building of the
provincial government center into an open park.
Gov. Rodolfo del Rosario stressed during an interview that he
wants the government center to be more friendly to the people.
“Our capitol during nighttime is so dark that it looks like a
garrison. That is why we have to build an open park in that area to be enjoyed
by the public,” Governor Del Rosario said.
The construction of the park started on the first working day of
the 2015 resulting to the temporary closure of the main entrance gate of the
provincial capitol.
Del Rosario said that the construction will be finished in time
for the Palarong Pambansa on May this year.
It can be recalled that Gov. Del Rosario declared last year that
he will rehabilitate the provincial government center before it he will step
down in 2016.
The open park is part of the P 50-million rehabilitation project
of the provincial government. (PIA 11, Michael Uy)
