DAVAO ORIENTAL, January 26, 2015— A newly completed water reservoir
and a brand new L-300 van was turned over to the Barangay Local
Government Unit of Rang-ay in Banaybanay town by the Provincial
Government on Tuesday, January 22, 2015.
Funded under the Provincial Government Aid to Barangays, Governor
Corazon N. Malanyaon personally opened the operationof the water
reservoir and handed the key of the brand new vehicle to Banaybanay
Mayor Adalia L. Tambuang with barangay officials during its turn over
ceremony.
Punong Barangay Sergio P. Marcos says this assistance will make a big
difference in making day-to-day life of barangay constituents here
easier, adding that the long-term water shortage problem in his village
has now come to an end. “We are indeed very lucky to be recipients of
this assistance through the provincial government aid,” he said. “It has
been a dream of this barangay to have our own vehicle,” he added.
The Provincial Aide Assistance Office said the province had
bankrolled a total of eight hundred thousand pesos for the total project
cost.
Meanwhile, Governor Malanyaon said that the
provincial government is continuing and mounting itsefforts to serve the
province’s constituents by implementing more meaningful projects that
would cater especially the poor.
The Provincial Aid to Barangays is an initiative ofGovernor
Malanyaon,wherein the Provincial Government allocates and gives annual
cash assistance of P200, 000 to each of the 183 barangays of the
province. This assistance intends to provide logistics and other support
to the barangays in order to deliver urgently needed services for the
