DavOr LGU gives rice packs to GovGen fishing communities

DAVAO ORIENTAL, January 19, 2015 - The provincial government of Davao Oriental distributed about forty sacks of rice at Barangay Don Aurelio Chicote, Governor Generoso of this province last January 13. 

Residents in this coastal village, who mostly depend on fishing as their primary source of livelihood, say the monsoon had prevented them from going sailing.

A total of 483 beneficiaries, who received 4 kilos of rice each, are from the sevenPuroks of the Barangay, namely Talisay, Magcono, Lawaan, Gemelina, Molave, Bangkal and Narra.

The recipients from the said barangay, led by their Barangay Captain Renato S. Bulaso expressed their gratefulness of the generosity of to the Provincial Government led byGovernor Corazon N.Malanyaon.

The provincial governmenthad also marked dates formore rice distribution to the fishing communities in the Municipality of Governor Generoso. Governor Malanyaon hadswornbeforeto provide assistance to the fishermen of the said municipality who suffered from weather mishaps last December 2014.(Riza M. Golez DAVOR PIO)
