DOLE cites Panabo PESO as top performer

PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte, Jan. 15 – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office recently awarded the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) of Panabo for being the Top Performing Office in implementing the Pre-employment Seminar for Local Applicants (PESLA) and Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) program for the year 2014.

City Administrator Ramon G. Sawan and ABC President Miguel Niez led the reenactment hand-over of the Plaque of Recognition to PESO Manager Cherelle Espinosa during the Jan. 12 Monday convocation sponsored by the City Economics Enterprise, Management and Development Office (CEEMDO)..

The actual awarding ceremony for the Component City Category was conducted at the DOLE Regional Office on  January 8, 2015

PESLA program provides basic steps and information to local applicants by conducting orientations on requirements of their employment while SPES gives student-beneficiaries a chance to earn during summer vacation.

Meanwhile, city officials and department heads, government employees and visitors witnessed the presentation and accomplishments of City Economics Enterprise Management Development Office (CEEMDO).

CEEMDO Department Head, Nemesio Rasgo, Jr. presented the accomplishment report  of his office that highlights the 100.5% collection efficiency in  2014 in four major projects namely: the Food Centrum, old Central Public Market, slaughter house and the newly opened Eternal Garden Public Cemetery (Jasz Paras, CIO Panabo)
