Island Garden City officials join together in oath

ISLAND GARDEN CITY OF SAMAL, July 04--  Mayor Aniano P. Antalan, Vice Mayor Al David T. Uy and the new and re- elected city councillors for 2013-2016  took their oath of office before Judge Carfelita Cadiente-Flores of Municipal Trial Court in Cities of Kaputian District at  Samal Gymnasium here last Friday afternoon June 28.

First to swear their oath of office were the City Councillors from Babak District: Hon. Richard A. Guindolman (re-elected); Hon. Dan P. Gervacio(newly elected), Hon. Napoleon C. Villarica (newly elected), and Michael D. Robledo, Sr. (newly elected); followed by city councillors of Samal District: Hon. Ruel H. Bantillo, Hon. Abelardo D. Colmenares, Hon. Teresita B. Antalan (re-elected), and Hon. Glenn C. Colmenares (re-elected) and Kaputian District City Councilors: Hon. Nieljun C. Esdrelon (re-elected), Samuel C. Rosario (re-elected), and Godofredo M. Mara (re-elected) and  Hon. Alberto C. Ortiz(newly elected).

Right after the city councillors took oath, Judge Carfelita Cadiente-Flores administered the oath taking of City Vice Mayor Al David T. Uy and City Mayor Aniano P. Antalan.

After swearing and in his inaugural speech, City Mayor Antalan expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the trust and confidence and giving him another mandate as local chief of executive for 2013-2016.   He also urged unity and cooperation and specifically thanked City Vice Mayor Al David Torres Uy for the support and willingness to assist his administration to advance  development of the city.       

“Ikaw ug Ako, Uswag IGaCoS.., buot ipasabot “ikaw ug ako” maghiusa ug kanunay magtambayayong, kining atong isla nga Maanyag mo-Uswag gayud. “Ikaw”- nagpresentar sa bagang lungsoranon nga gi-hagit sa paghalad og responsableng pagka-lungsoranon ug “Ako”nag presenter sa panggamhanan nga gi-hagit sa paghatud og maligdong nga pagpangalagad.” (You and I, improve IGaCoS…meaning if “you and me” have  unity and collaboration, our beautiful Island will surely improve. “You” represented  the samaleños, encouraged to  be responsible citizens and the “I” represents the government officials to deliver good governance.) Mayor Antalan said.
Antalan assured his last three years in office to focus and to gain the renewal of values, good governance, responsible citizenship and more programs to uplift the socio-economic conditions of Samaleños.

The families of the newly and re-elected local officials in their filipiniana attire, department heads and  employees of the city  government of IGaCoS, the heads and representatives from the national and provincial agencies,  barangay officials from the forty-six (46) barangays, private sectors, business sectors, family members, relatives and friends of the newly and re-elected officials witnessed the event and joined the testimonial dinner and ceremonial ball.

Earlier in the morning in the same venue, a thanksgiving mass was offered for the oath taking and inaugural ceremony concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Arnold Balaquinto of Virgen Dolorosa Parish, Babak District, Rev.Fr. Danilo  Dotollo of Immaculate Conception Parish, Samal District and Rev. Fr. Rico Enriquez of Sto. Niño Parish.
