DAVAO CITY July 9 (PIA)- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has allocated two slots for young researchers to participate in the 5th Asian Heads of Research Council (ASIAHORCs) Joint Symposium to be held this November 26-28 in Bali Indonesia.
The joint symposium organized by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) will be bannering the theme “Food Sciences.”
The DOST slots is open for Filipino researchers whose field of research is on bio-resources for food, functional food, bio-processing technology for food, food engineering and food science policy.
The event aims to promote linkage among young researchers in advance science and technology in the region and will work to strengthen the network among Asian countries through presentations and discussion of issues in their fields of research.
Applicants for the two slots should be under 35 years of age as of Nov. 28, 2013, be able to provide a high-quality poster and oral presentation and preferably grade students, PhD degree holders or post- doctoral fellows.
The DOST will select from among the applicants/nominees from different universities and research institutions the two young researchers who will be finally endorsed to LIPI as the country’s representative to the 5thASIAHORCs Joint Symposium.
LIPI will cover the local travel, lodging and meal expense of the participants in Indonesia while DOST will provide the roundtrip international airfare of the participants. Incidental expenses will be shouldered by the participants.
Applicants should submit a letter of intent; endorsement letter from head of agency; updated curriculum vitae; certificate of employment and copies of their TOR (Transcript of Records) not late than August 9, 2013.
