Big 8 Hotel, first of its kind in Tagum City

TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, July 09 (PIA):  Visitors going north of the Davao Region will now have a luxury hotel to comfortably stay, 55 kilometers away from the business and commercial center Davao City.

Comparably four-star in quality, the Big 8 Hotel is now open to serve those traveling in the provinces of Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley  and Davao Oriental, and even those who would go their way to Butuan City in the CARAGA Region.

It is located in Barangay Visayan Village along a strategic portion of the national highway traversing the heart of Tagum City.

Near a bus stop,  it stands very accessible and visible that walk-in clients are getting a room to  stay overnight without bothering about booking in advance, General Manager Roxanne Obregon said.

It comes first of its kind in Tagum City which has now become a fast-growing city, north of Davao City.

“The owner believes in the economic prospect of the city in pouring quite a substantial investment  here,” Obregon said.
Standing eight floors from its basement, the Big 8 Hotel occupies a 1.6 hectare area with 121 total rooms:  56 standard, 18 superior, 36 deluxe, nine executive, one executive suite and one presidential suite.

It takes pride to have the biggest function room to  accommodate 1,500 pax that no other hotel in Mindanao can offer as of this time. It has nine other function rooms, the smallest of which is a board room that can accommodate 10 persons.

It  houses three restaurants, and will soon be opening a coffee shop and a swimming pool that the management is thinking of offering for walk-in hotel clients.

Clients can expect to experience a comfortable lounge are at the hotel's eight floor where the management is thinking of putting up a bar.

“Big 8 will be very flexible to serve the needs of its customers,”  Obregon said even assuring that it will serve clients who would only want to spend a dinner  or a lunch date or who may walk  in to take their meals.  (PIA XI/Jeanevive Duron-Abangan)
