Coastal clean-up drive yields 15 sacks of garbage

DAVAO CITY, July 18 (PIA) A shoreline-clean-up drive along Bago Aplaya beach yielded a total of 15 sacks of garbage.

Pelagion Flores of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, coordinator of the activity, the clean-up drive was participated in by representatives from government line-agencies, city and barangay government.

He said a total of 139 employees from the government line agencies, police and military, mostly members of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council joined in the  Clean-up Drive:  Brigada Linis sa Dalampasigan at Bago Aplaya Beach in commemoration of the National  Disaster Consciousness Month.

The activity was spearheaded by Loreto Rirao, regional director of the Office of Civil Defense XI.
Participants brought with them sacks, rakes, picking sticks and other working tools in cleaning up the shoreline. (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
