PANABO CITY, October 20 – Seven ladies representing
various tribes within the city displayed recently their wit and confidence
before the crowd in the city hall lobby during the convocation program
sponsored by the Panabo City Tribal Council, Inc. (PCTCI).
Wearing their tribes dresses, the ladies were
presented as the official candidates of the Hiyas ng Binulig 2015 pageant, one
of the events for the city’s celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples
(IP) Monthwith the theme “Lumadnong Kabataan, Kinaiyahan Ampingan.”
They were Jolibee Petronilo of Mansaka,
Jennifer Montenegro of Dibabawon Tribe, Marjorie Liwantang of Tagakaulo Tribe,
Shiela Mae Bohol of Manobo Tribe, Kaye Asumbrado of Mandaya Tribe, Kate Morales
of Ati Tribe and Norjanna Lumad of Kalagan Tribe.
The Hiyas ng Panabo 2015 will be crowned on
its pageant night on October 29 at the ARF Gym, Panabo Parks and Plaza.
The Hiyas will receive P5,000 and gift
certificates, while its 1st and 2nd runners-up will get P4,000 and P3,000,
respectively. Consolation prize is P2,000 and all participants will receive
gift certificates. Special awardees will also be chosen for Best in Talent,
Best in Costume and Ms. Photogenic.
Last year, Aisha Macla from the Kalagan Tribe
bagged the Hiyas ng Panabo.
Mayor James Gamao and the members of the
Sangguniang Panlungsod graced the presentation of the Hiyas ng Panabo
candidates.
Mayor Gamao said that the real Filipina beauty
