DAVAO DEL NORTE, October 8 (PIA) - - The provincial
government of Davao del Norte allocated P500,000 each to all barangays in the
province as stimulus fund for the implementation of Good Governance (Go Go)
program.
Governor Rodolfo del Rosario declared during the Good
Governance Congress yesterday that the province will be giving stimulus fund to
cascade the values of good governance in the barangay level to efficiently and
effectively deliver basic services to the people.
“Good governance must therefore be the hallmark of all local
government units including the barangays to overcome the challenges of growth,”
Del Rosario said.
As his governorship will end in 10 months, Governor Del
Rosario emphasized that the barangays are the vital institution to sustain the
gains of good governance that the provincial government.
“Good governance can be lasting when we turn over the
systems and procedures to the barangay,” Del Rosario said.
The Good Governance Congress gathered yesterday hundreds
of local officials, public administration experts, students, teachers and
civil society members at the RDR Gym, Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism
