He also proposed for implementation projects in 2016 that will traverse three (3) municipalities in Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley similar to the Compostela-Cateel Road.
Alquiza said this project will benefit the three municipalities of Mawab Maragusan, in Comval and Caraga in Davao Oriental.
He said the DPWH-XI will connect these municipalities starting with a road opening in the Compostela 1st Legislative District (LD) side with a length of 17.20 km along the Mawab-Maragusan-Caraga Road, Brgy. Talian Section and Brgy. Talian-Brgy. Tagdalongdong Section. Simultaneously a similar scope of work, with improvement and concreting, will also be done in the province’s 2nd LD with a length of 17.50 km affecting the Mawab-Maragusan-Caraga Road, Poblacion Mawab Section and Brgy. Andili-Brgy. New Leyte Section. As for the Davao Oriental side, the project will also involve a road opening of 13.88 km and the construction of a Bridge at the Sitio Banglas Section. The total budget allocation for these three proposed projects will amount to PhP1.36B.
“The opening of these road networks in the hinterlands of Davao Oriental down to Comval will definitely spur the economy of the provinces and municipalities involved,” Alquiza said. (DPWH-XI PIO)
