Gov’t vows to continue reforms

The Aquino administration will continue focusing efforts on implementing priority development and reform programs that will ensure the attainment of sustainable and inclusive growth.

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. reiterated the priority concerns of the government, as President Benigno S. Aquino III continues to consult with relevant stakeholders about the presidential candidate he will endorse for next year’s elections.

“As he stated most recently, he is looking at the period after his last SONA (State-of-the-Nation Address) as the appropriate time for making an announcement on his preferred candidate for the 2016 presidential elections,” he said.

President Aquino will be delivering his last SONA on July 27.
Coloma made this statement following public opinion survey results indicating a snapshot view of citizen preferences on potential candidates for the presidency in the May 2016 elections.
The pre-election survey conducted by Pulse Asia from May 30 to June 5 showed that 30 percent of the respondents would vote for Senator Grace Poe for President; while 22 percent would vote for Vice President Jejomar Binay. (PNA)
