Comval’s government scholars up, graduates excel



Compostela Valley Province, June 1, 2015--- The Compostela Valley Scholarship Program (CVSP) now benefits 826 scholars for school year (SY) 2015-2016.  The 644 CVSP take the 4-year or Baccalaureate courses, 153 scholars for Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) School Based, and other 29 for TVET Center-Based.

According to Education and Information Technology Chair Senior Board Member Tyron Uy, the provincial government increased its budget from more than P12M to P17M this year to accommodate more scholars who have financial difficulties to finish their education.

With the increase, Batch 2015 now reaches to 396  CVSP Scholars wherein 274 of them take the Baccalaureate course and 122 for TVET school and center-based.

For SY 2014-2015, 72 scholars already graduated with 10 of them given the Academic Excellence Awards through a plaque of recognition and medal by Gov. Arturo Uy.  Bagging Magna Cum Laude from UM Tagum are Dexter C. Onieles of Nabunturan and Dianne Aileen D. Ayco of New Bataan in BS-Accounting Technology (BSAT) and Alimar M. Nuevo of Compostela in BS-Human Resource Management (HRM).

While 7 Cum Laude were also given the “Academic Excellence Awards,” namely: Daisy S. Abayan and Analie Amero who graduated with a degree in BSEED, Lotchie Joy A. Labor and Charmyn Malazarte in BSBA (Business Administration), Kenneth Q. Salamanca in BEED, Jolly Ann C. Kuan in BSA (Accounting),  and Junrie B. Cresencio in BSAT.  (Fe Maestre/ IDS Comval)
