DAVAO CITY, Feb. 23 (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and
Development (DSWD-XI) has recently paid tribute to its partner agencies
and supporters for their significant contributions to the successful
delivery of social service programs and projects in the region.
In time for its 64th anniversary celebration, DSWD-XI recognized the
invaluable support of several national government agencies, local
government units, non-government organizations, civil society
organizations and the public and government media.
DSWD-XI regional director Priscilla Razon said it was high time to
pay tribute to their development partners whom she said have contributed
in placing DSWD-XI again as the top performer among the 21 DSWD offices
throughout the country including its Central Office and attached
agencies.
The celebration was made even more meaningful as Dir. Razon was named
as this year’s Best Manager among the 17 DSWD regional directors.
“For the support you have shown us, our task has been made easier to
implement,” Razon said during the awarding rites held at Grand Men Seng
Hotel, this city.
She said the past years have been challenging for the department
because of all the controversies and criticisms hurled against DSWD
especially during relief operations after Typhoon Pablo calamity.
“But we stood firm. It was a test of strength,” the DSWD-XI official stated.
Among the national government agencies that were conferred of the
Salamat Po Award were the Department of Public Works and Highways,
