DAVAO CITY, Feb 6 (PIA) The Davao City-Island Garden City of Samal
bridge project will still have to wait a little longer as the National
Economic Development Authority waits the result on the feasibility study
on the project.
Ma. Lourdes Lim, director of the NEDA 11 said the Davao Integrated
Development Program-Project Management Office already completed the
revision of the term of reference of the project and submitted it to the
Department of Public Works and Highways national office.
She
said the DPWH is currently advocating for the project’s inclusion in
the Philippine Development Program so that the feasibility study will be
funded.
Lim clarified that the public-private partnership management of the
project is just one of the modes in financing Davao City-IGACOS bridge
plan.
“We would be glad if the national government can put the bill,” she said.
Lim said she is also eyeing the NEDA to finance the feasibility study within 2015.
She said the project implementation can take awhile since after the
feasibility study, the negotiations for the financing and the detailed
engineering structure of the project will still have to follow. (PIA
