PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte, October 29– The 2nd Binulig Festival marks its third day with dances as different schools in the city competed during the Binulig na Ani Showdown last October 26 Sunday at the ARF Gym.

It was the dancers from Panabo National High School (PNHS) Special Program in the Arts who received the first prize for both close and open categories besting four other schools.

They performed a harvest festival inspired dance with live percussion for their music. Their performance featured Banana and the Bangus which are the most famous production in the City.

Further, Chairman of the Committee on Tourism City Councilor Hon. Renante Bangoy who was also present during the event proudly stated that it is time for the City to have an annual festival to celebrate the bountiful harvest and to honor the hard working farmers.

“We can now showcase the Agri Industry every year through the Binulig Festival since Panabo City is popular for its Agri Products,” said Bangoy.

Other participating schools were San Vicente National High School, Northern Paramedical and Technological College, Northlink Technological Institute, and Gabriel Taborin College of Davao.

In the same day, a Mindanao wide Dance Sport Competition was being held at Davao del Norte State College (DNSC). It was the first time for the City to host such competition.
The festival’s current theme, “Mabuligong abot bunga sa nagkahiusang paningkamot” highlights the unity of Panaboans to experience a bountiful harvest annually. (By Michael Angelo A. Resueño, CIO Panabo)
