President Benigno S. Aquino III on Tuesday (Nov. 18) thanked the
Filipino people, amid reports that ratings on public satisfaction in his
administration have improved in the latest survey conducted by the
Social Weather Stations (SWS).
President Aquino expressed that he is no longer surprised by this
development, as he was firm on his belief that the general public would
eventually recognize the reforms implemented by his government.
The latest SWS survey showed gross satisfaction with the national
administration climbing to 59 percent and dissatisfaction falling to 24
percent, which MalacaƱang has described as “historically high” compared
to previous administrations.
In the second quarter, the administration’s ratings fell to record
lows in all geographical areas and declined across socioeconomic classes
with 56 percent satisfied, 26 percent dissatisfied, and 18 percent
ambivalent.
President Aquino noted that the two-and-a-half million Filipinos they
have been able to lift out of poverty, as well as the 1.2 million jobs
they have managed to create during the course of their administration
are probably among the things that contributed to such improvement in
the latest ratings. (PCOO News Release)
