Davao
del Norte, November 21 (PIA) - - The provincial government here in partnership
with the Provincial Tourism Council launched earlier today the 2nd Pasko Fiesta
sa Kapitolyo at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex.

Daquioag, provincial tourism officer, said that Pasko Fiesta sa Kapitolyo is an
annual celebration of the province’s arts and culture and culinary fetes held
during yuletide season.
“Last
year’s, it was just a weekly celebration; however for this year, we will have
the Pasko Fiesta every weekend night from November 21 to December 20,” Daquioag
said.
He
said that the celebration will be highlighted with different performing arts
from night to dawn every Friday and Saturday, visual exhibit featuring the
province’s tourism destinations by the Camera Club of Tagum, and stalls selling
food, beverages and Christmas items.
Daquioag
also said that the tourism council will pilot test the use of cash vouchers
within the Pasko Fiesta area.
“This
will be the first event by the provincial government and the tourism council
that we will utilize only cash vouchers to buy any item in all the booths with
the area,” he said.
He
emphasized that there will be pre-selling of tickets for buffet worth P-199,
while a booth is placed within the venue to exchange cash to vouchers amounting
to P-5, P-10 and P-15.
“If
ever the use of cash vouchers will turn out to be successful, we will perhaps
replicate in any bazaar activities in the sports complex,” he said.
Daquioag
also revealed that numerous gift items will be raffled every night.
“A
number of tourism stakeholders in the province have showed their support to the
fiesta by donating room accommodations, gift certificate, and items to be given
away to the event-goers,” he added.
