DAVAO
CITY, Nov. 21 – Around 3,505 families in Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental
who were left homeless due to Typhoon Storm Pablo, will end the year with a
great celebration in their newly-built homes which will be turned over to them
on November 25.
The
recipients will move in to their new housing units on said date after two
separate turn-over rites which are expected to be graced by Secretary Jose Rene
D. Almendras, National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Atty. Chito M.
Cruz, and local government officials.
The
Php220,000 worth duplex-type house and lot package in a 60-square meter lot is
implemented under the Rehabilitation Program of NHA.
There
are 2,967 ready-for-occupancy units for turn-over in different project sites in
Compostela Valley, toinclude: San Antonio Village, Brgy. Maparat, Compostela
(300 units); Lower Ulip Resettlement Project, Brgy. Poblacion, Monkayo (443
units); and Sariwarain Village, Brgy. Union, Monkayo (225 units).
Other
areas are: New Bataan Resettlement Project 1, Brgy. San Roque, New Bataan
(1,214); New Bataan Resettlement Project 2, Bgry. Andap, New Bataan (50); Vida
Vista 3, Brgy. New Visayas, Montevista (335) and Mon Eagle Ville, Bgry. Kidawa,
Laak (400 units).
In
Davao Oriental Province, 538 housing units are also for turn-over such as in
San Alfonso Village, Bgry. San Alfonso, Cateel (167 units); San Antonio Village
III, Brgy. San Antonio, Cateel (289) and Cateel Housing, Brgy. Taytayan, Cateel
(82).
The
ceremonial turn-over for the housing projects in Compostela Valley will take
place at 9:00 a.m. on November 25 at the New Bataan Resettlement Project site
in Brgy. San Roque, New Bataan town.
For
the Davao Oriental projects, the turn-over rites will be held at 1:00 pm on
same day at San Alfonso Village, Brgy. San Alfonso in the municipality of
Cateel.
For
TS Pablo victims, a total of 17,030 housing units are in various stages of
development, 6,000 of which are completed but undergoing documentation process,
and the 3,505 are ready for occupancy and for turn-over, according to the
Provincial Government of Davao-Local Inter-Agency Committee (LIAC).
It
was on December 4, 2012 when TS Pablo ravaged and displaced thousands of
families in Mindanao with Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental as the provinces
heavily affected with floods and landslides that killed many and destroyed
properties and homes.
