DAVAO CITY, Nov 5 (PIA) Mayor Rodrigo Duterte
held in abeyance the announcement of Christmas bonuses for city hall permanent
and contractual employees.
Speaking in the public affairs program, “Gikan
sa Masa, Para sa Masa,” he explained that he still needs
to confer with the city treasurer on the
availability of funds for the purpose.
Duterte said that historically, the city
government gives away additional bonuses over and above the 13th month-pay as
prescribed by law.
“I hope we have enough funds to give to the
employees on Christmas,” he said.
Duterte said he still has to look for funds for
the contractual employees.
He might give the official announcement on the
Christmas bonuses for contractual employees on the first week of
