12 DavNor schools top performers in Brigada Eskwela



Davao del Norte, November 20, 2014 – The Department of Education (DepEd)-XI recognized the excellent performance of 12 schools from Davao del Norte in the implementation of the Brigada Eskwela in the Davao Region earlier this year. 

Tagum City National High School (TCNHS) and Panabo National High School (PNHS) bagged the first place in the Secondary Big School Category and Exceptional Category, respectively.
 
DepEd-XI OIC-Regional Director Nenita Lumaad led the 2014 Brigada Eskwela Best Implementer Awarding Ceremony held recently at the National Educators’ Academy of the Philippiens-Leadership and Development Center in Davao City.

She said the event not only honored the participating schools, but also conveyed the agency’s deepest gratitude to all the education stakeholders for engaging in the yearly tradition of preparing public schools for the opening of classes.

Ten other schools from the province are included in the top five best implementers in all categories in both elementary and high school levels.

For Tagum City, J. Tuason National High School and Union Elementary School both won the second place in the Small School Category and Exceptional Category, respectively; Mangga Elementary School was ranked 3rd place in Big School Category; and, Tagum National Trade School won 5th place in the Exceptional Category.

For Panabo City, Rizal Elementary School and Panabo Central Elementary School both won 4th place in Exceptional Category and Big School Category, respectively.

For the Island Garden City of Samal, Peñaplata Central Elementary School, Aumbay Elementary School and Mambago-A National High School all garnered 4th place in their respective categories.

Further, Magupising Elementary School of B.E. Dujali town won 5th place in the Small School Category.

In his acknowledgement message, Governor Rodolfo Del Rosario highlighted the valuable tie-up of the provincial government and the public schools in the Davao del Norte Division, in terms of making the schools disaster-ready and resilient.

He recalled the conduct of Oplan A.N.D.A.M. (Advocacy on Natural Disaster Awareness and Management) cum Brigada Eskwela a month before the opening of classes, as the province rolled off the initiative from one school to another especially in the flood-prone areas. (Nobags/davnor pio)
