Nasipit Fisherfolks studies Panabo Mariculture Park Management



PANABO CITY ,Davao del Norte (October 30) – The Municipality of Nasipit, Province of Agusan del Norte  sent 15 participants to a study mission and exposure to  Panabo Mariculture Park and to Panabo  City Hall last October 23 and 24.

The City Government through the City Agriculturist Office (CAGRO) and City Tourism and Investment Promotion Section (TIPS) facilitated the visit at Mariculture Park, Barangay Cagangohan led by Rolando Tuazon of the City Agriculturist Fisheries Section. It focuses on fish processing such as bottled bangus, smoke fish and boneless bangus.

“The objective is to familiarize with the facilities and equipment in fish processing by exposing the local fisherfolks of Nasipit to the dynamics involve in packaging techniques and to acquire learning from successful business models on fish processing operations,” said Tuazon.

The participants were members of the federation of Nasipit fisherfolks who are also the beneficiary of the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting (GPB) project, Mini Fish Processing Center funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Norte Provincial Office.

LGU Nasipit expressed their gratitude for the warm accommodation extended by City Mayor Atty. Jose L. Silvosa, Sr., Vice Mayor Engr. James G. Gamao and City Councilor Emmanuel Pamisaran.
