DAVAO CITY- From November 19-22, SMX
Davao will play host to the 16th Davao Trade Expo.
Touted as the biggest trade expo in
Mindanao, DATE 2014 is expected to have 200 exhibitors from mostly coming from agri-trade
and agri-industrial sectors together with its complementary industries,
food (fresh, processed, packaging), machineries equipment, post-harvest
facilities, agricultural chemicals, animal husbandry, fertilizers & pest
management, financing, ICT and logistics.
This year’s DATE will carry the
theme “Davao: From Local Agriculture to Global Agribusiness.” It
is an annual flagship project of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and
Industries.

of this year’s DATE said this year’s expo will be unique as it will put the
banana industry in the spotlight. DATE will be held back-to-back with the
International Banana Symposium.
The event will bring together
experts and stakeholders in the banana industry from around the world. Recent
advances on research and development, marketing strategies, logistics, pest
management and other emerging trends in the banana industry will be presented.
More than 300 delegates from all
around the world are expected to attend the International Banana Symposium.
“We hope that Mindanaoans can take
advantage of the learnings that they can get from our local and foreign
