PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte, July 21---- The City Government of Panabo through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) will showcase talents of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in singing, sports and in performing intermission numbers.
Bannering the theme, "Talino at Paninindigan ng Taong May Kapansanan: Pasaporte sa Kaunlaran”, the city’s observance of the 36th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week is spearhead by CSWDO under OIC- CSWD Officer Jeanette Lamoste.
Starting off only July 17 and will run until July 23, 2014, the observance of the 36th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week took off with a Thanks-giving Mass at Sto. Niño Parish Church after which was Persons With Disabilities (PWD) Stockholders meeting held at Gaisano Tagum.
The celebration also featured PWDs sports activities such as Sports Basketball Clinic at Tagum Sports Complex on July 18, 2014, and Swimming Competition at Gatchalian Inland Resort on July 21.
The City’s Culmination Program of the 36th National NDPR We3ek Week on will be on July 22 which will highlight various city level sports competition which will included Swimming Competition, Chess, Dama and Painting at the Panabo Gaisano Grand Mall, activity area.
Among the expected guests, delegates and visitors during the culmination program are Provincial Governor Rodolfo R. del Rosario, City Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. and 2nd District Representative of Davao del Norte, Anton F. Lagdameo, Jr.
Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Nanyo Edito P. Cayonda is also invited as guest speaker.
Aside from sports events, there will be a free haircut which will be sponsored by City Councilor Janet Tanong.
The CSWDO is in the forefront of the City’s effort to facilitate the implementation of welfare programs for the PWDs, erderly and for the improvements of lives for several disadvantaged families and individuals in Panabo. (Panabo City Information Office/jmda)
