Anti-Drug Abuse Council lectures Students on the effects of drugs

PANABO CITY, July 10 (PIA)--- The Panabo City Anti Drug Council accomplished another “Anti Drug Awareness Symposium” on July 9 Wednesday  conducted at  the Katipunan Elementary School.

With   City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) staff Marvin Sison as the main lecturer, the half-day activity was attended by 102 students and teachers who were  made to understand the meaning of some terms used in the drugs industry.

He  explained the international and domestic drug situation,  the chain of drug trafficking and the parental values to contain drug addiction.

He also revealed the groups of dangerous drugs,  the bad effects of drugs, the brain as the primary target of drugs,  the common signs of drug abuse,  and the sorrowful state of drug addicts.

Other topics discussed were tips to avoid drugs and the penal provision of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

The City Anti Drug Council headed by its executive officer Augusto S. Quilisadio of the Public Safety and Disaster Management, has been lecturing about the dangers of drug addiction  from one school to another to inform students regarding the adverse effects of drugs.
After their symposium in Brgy. Katipunan, CADAC will hold another symposium at Brgy. Waterfall Elementary School on July 10.  (Panabo City Information Office/jmda)
