All set for Comval’s Bulawan Festival



COMPOSTELA VALLEY- The provincial government of Compostela Valley is now all set for the celebration of its 18th Founding Anniversary and 9th Bulawan Festival on February 28 and March 3-8, 2016.

A Fun Run will kick-off on Feb 28, 2016 as the starting point of the celebration where 12,000 participants are expected to attend. The proceeds will benefit the school children of Compostela Valley.



On the other hand, the week-long festivities will start on March 3 and will end on March 8, 2016. The opening day will start with a Pontifical Mass before proceeding to the opening program. In the afternoon will be the Social Services Day featuring Zumba Mania. At the evening, there will be the Educator’s Night with its theme “Festivals of the World.”

Seniors Citizen & Peacekeeper’s Day, Job Fair and One-Stop-Shop and LGU Night: featuring LGU Pinasikat will be on March 4, 2016. The golden voices of Garbo Comvalenyo contestants will be heard on March 5, 2016 with special guest Darren Espanto. This day will also be the Youth Day with the theme “Summer Fun sa Bulawan” which will feature Caribbean and Hawaiian dance  competition.

Moreover, beautiful majorettes and loud noises of the drums and xylophones will be seen and heard on March 6, 2016 with the “Kasikas sa Kapitolyo.” After which will be the Comedy Night free concert.

Another much-awaited event is the Al’law ng Kalumunan celebration and the Bulawanong Pasundayag (a street Dancing and showdown) on March 7 plus another free concert night dubbed Himig Pinoy on the same day.

Finally, March 8 will be the Motorcade and Float Parade, and the Foundation Program will be held in the morning. This will be followed by the Barangayanihan, Bulawanong Konsyerto and the grand fireworks display which will culminate the week-long festivities.

The province also invites everyone to join the Retrato Photo contest as well as to watch out for daily prizes for the “Best Selfie” and “Best Groupie” shots. Plus, a wide array of tokens, souvenirs, Comval-made goodies and the like will also be displayed at the Agri-trade and Tourism fair.
