Village entreps to lead PaskuJuan bazaar in Tagum

Tagum City -Partner-beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) take the limelight on Sunday, November 29 as they showcase their competitive products at the DSWD 2016 PaskuJuan slated at the Trade Center here.

PaskuJuan is a nationwide festival and bazaar featuring local products of DSWD livelihood participants bannering the tagline Sama Sama sa Landas ng Pag-unlad.

The first PaskuJuan was held last November at NCCC Mall Activity Area in Matina, Davao City.

For this year, “We have invited schools, hospitals, city and local officials, media, private establishments, partner agencies and some 2000 Pantawid Pamilya partner beneficiaries to the day-long ‘fiesta’ which opens at 8 in the morning,” announced Priscilla N. Razon, Regional Director of DSWD.

Concessioners are SLP beneficiaries from the five provinces and six cities in Davao Region which will be selling products like fresh fruits and vegetables, chili powder and paste, home decors, baskets, bags, slippers, fresh milk, bracelets and necklaces, preserved desserts, and a variety of processed foods, Director Razon said.

“We are happy to invite Tagumeňos and residents of nearby towns to view our beautiful products and delight in the finest food offerings and accessories for personal use or give-aways,” she urged.

Director Razon said PaskuJuan aims to encourage partner-beneficiaries to be active in promoting and marketing their produce as well as generating linkage for product movement not only in their community but in a bigger showground like Tagum City.

We have invited Pantawid Pamilya participants to expose them to livelihood and enterprise development and to inspire them to enlist in the program, Director Razon added. (DSWD/Carmela C. Duron)
