DBM Only Gov’t Agency To Get Department-Wide Certification On Its First Try

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has attained its ISO 9001:2008 Certification, as part of the budget agency’s strong commitment to deliver efficient and effective public service.

“We are proud to announce that the DBM operates a quality management system, which has been assessed as conforming to ISO 9001:2008 quality management system standards.

The ISO certification conferred to the DBM is department-wide, as opposed to ISO certification conferred to a particular division or unit of a government office,” Budget Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad said.

“So far, the DBM is the only government agency to get a department-wide ISO certification on its first try,” Abad said.

The agency was awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 Certification for its systems and processes in relation to policy formulation, preparation of the national budget, management/administration of the national budget, and monitoring and analysis of performance.

adw43rtg This certification means the DBM’s systems and processes conform to ISO 9001:2008 quality management system standards.

This ISO certification covers not only the DBM central office but also its regional offices, from the National Capital Region to its offices in Regions I-XIII and CAR. The conditions of certification apply to the Certification of Management Systems for the following: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 27001, and ISO 50001.

“The DBM has been continuously working to improve its systems and processes to ensure the preparation and implementation of the national budget addresses the urgent needs of our people.

This certification represents a seal of approval on our efforts to deliver efficient and effective public service,” Abad said.
