DAVAO DEL NORTE, March 13 (PIA) - - The Provincial Women’s
Council (PWC) of Davao del Norte will honor on March 24 at the RDR Gym, 20
outstanding women during culmination program of the National Women’s Month.
PWC Chairperson Providencia Nuñez revealed yesterday during the
Kapihan ng Kapitolyo at the PIO Mini Studio, Tagum City that
20 outstanding women in different fields will be accorded with tributary
honours as highlights of the provincial celebration of the women’s month.
“These women have shown exemplary performance in their own field
like leadership in an association or public service or involvement in the
community,” Nuñez said.
She added that they have screened the applications submitted by
all the local council of women in the province and the twenty awardees were
selected based on their accomplishments.
“This is the first time that we will give this kind of honor to
our women of this province and hopefully, we will continue this for the years
to come,” she said.
The list of names of the 20 outstanding women will be made
available only during the culmination program.
Nuñez also bared that Ms. Karina Anna Chiu-del Rosario, wife of
Congressman Anthony del Rosario, will give the keynote speech during the
culmination program.
Also, she added that Cong. Del Rosario will sponsor a Handog to
Kababainhan, a concert featuring television personalities at 1:00 PM on the
