DavNor introduces God’s governance on first day of work

TAGUM CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE January 5 (PIA) - - The provincial government here opened the first day of work with a convocation program focused on the topic “Good Governance is God’s Governance”.

Sponsoring the convocation program, the Provincial Governor’s Office started the year introducing to the provincial officials and employees the essence of God’s governance.

Sr. Ma. Fe Gerodias, guest speaker, stressed to the government employees at the Bulwagan ng Lalawigan that the attitude of a shepherd is the ideal basis for leaders.

“The shepherd makes sure that needs of the sheep are met, especially those needs that the sheep cannot meet. The shepherd anticipates danger and avoids it. The shepeherd protects the sheep from any kind of danger. The shepherd is responsible for the well being of the sheep.”

“The ideal is that the purpose of the government is to serve the individual in reaching his/her full potential,” Sr. Gerodias said.

Gerodias emphasized that public office is an opportunity and a privilege to serve and help the people.

“Public service is a mission not just a source of income and satisfaction,” she said.

Gerodias also highlighted that everyone in the workplace, may it be the leader or the follower, have an equal level of dignity.

“So no matter what position you have, let us make it easy for the people we are working with and working for to approach us and express what they think and feel,” she said.

Gerodias also advised that in order to create a better working atmosphere, the officials and head should also look into the welfare of their subordinates and further told the employees to stop spreading rumors within their workplace. (PIA 11, Michael Uy)
