COMPOSTELA VALLEY
PROVINCE-----Visitors and passersby can see within the Capitol compound a
new, skillfully designed building. It’s the Division Office of the
Department of Education (DepEd) set to be formally turned-over on
October 5, 2014 in time with the celebration of the World Teachers’ Day.
It’s a modernized building constructed by the provincial government with a P30.0 Million construction cost in which P20.0 Million was shouldered by the PLGU and P10.0 Million by the DepEd. Another P1.9 Million was added by the PLGU for the air-conditioning facilities and P3.0 Million for the furniture and fixtures.
On September 24, a ceremonial blessing of the building has been done and was attended by DepEd Region XI Director Nenita E. Lumaad, the former Schools Division Supt. (SDS) of DepEd ComVal.
Thousands of teachers province-wide will come on what could be a grand reunion event this October 5. Included in the highlight of activities are theGurolympics, a sportsfest tapping Larong Pinoy as the major games to be competed. DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin A. Luistro, FSC is also expected to grace the occasion. (grace almedilla, ids-comval)
