Maco and Monkayo leads 17th Comval Provincial Meet



NABUNTURAN, Compostela Valley, October 28, 2014 - The 17th Compostela Valley Provincial Athletic Association Meet successfully comes to a close with Maragusan hosting this year from October 20-24, 2014 bannering the theme, “Aim high: Sports, Unity and Development.”

In the Elementary level, the Monkayo Bansilaw emerged as the champion followed by the Maco Power Volts and Mawab Splashers. While in the Secondary level, Maco Power Volts bags the top post followed by Nabunturan Black Mamba and Maragusan Maroon Knights.

Maragusan under Mayor Cesar Colina welcomes guests and officials from Department of Education, various LGUs, the 11 delegations composed of the Monkayo, Maco, Nabunturan, Maragusan, Mawab, Compostela White Dragons, Montevista Sky Movers, New Bataan Gems, Laak Caver, Mabini Beach Lines and Pantukan Blue Shark.

“For the second time, Comvalenyos warm spirit of sportsmanship and comradeship will be enunciated right in our hospitable and progressive town. Our province’s name is included in the roster of renowned places that have produced numerous athletes in various fields for sports and have become one of the country’s prides,” he said.

Gov. Arturo Uy also extended his congratulations to the organizers of the event particularly to the Department of Education (DepEd-Comval) under Asst. Schools Division Supt. Dee D. Silva and its host municipality under Mayor Cesar C. Colina Sr.

“This year’s provincial meet articulates the relevance of personal discipline to each young people through sports at the same time creating the culture of oneness as an instrument for peace and harmony,” said Gov. Uy. (fe maestre/ids comval)
