Oplan Semana Santa’ installed in Davao City



Davao City  -To ensure the safety and security of Davaoeños, as well as tourists visiting the city for the Lenten season, 'Oplan Semana Santa' has been installed.

DSWD Regional Director Priscilla Razon, Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Loreto Rirao and Central 911 Chief Emmanuel Jaldon led the preparedness meeting at the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, Davao International Airport, Sasa, Davao City on Tuesday, March 31.

The meeting was then followed by a series of inspection at identified areas - domestic and international terminals at the Davao International Airport, Sasa Wharf, Sta. Ana Wharf, Magsaysay Park, Davao City Overland Transport Terminal, SM Ecoland, Crocodile Park and People's Park.

Further, DSWD reactivated its Quick Response Team for Disaster Preparedness as well as 24/7 Posting of Staff for Skeletal Duty during the period of Holy Week Observance, 24/7 On Call Status of DSWD Provincial Action Teams and Municipal Action Teams,  and 24/7 On Call Status for all DSWD vehicles.

To date, there is a ready stockpile of 28,000 family food packs at the Inter-Agency Relief Operations Center at DPWH Depot, Panacan, Davao City. Food packs have also been prepositioned in DSWD satellite areas located in the four provinces -Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental and Davao del Sur.
