DAVAO CITY, April 17 (PIA) All systems go for
the Palarong Pambansa 2015.
Speaking at the Hermes Club Insulares Forum held
at the Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario
said the host province with its cities and municipalities are ready to hold the
sports competition.
He said finalization is also done for the coming
of the president to attend the opening ceremony which might be known Monday given
that he has a foreign trip by then.
“We are very much ready to hold the Palarong
Pambansa 2015,” Del Rosario said.
He said 18 delegations are expected to arrive
with the first batch to come as early as April 18.
Del Rosario said the Davao Region delegation is
already in the area to prepare for the sports fest.
He also said that a security plan is already in
place from the place of origin of the athletes to the venues of the games.
He said Davao Region ranked Number 8 in the
recent Palaro held in Laguna.
Del Rosario also said that a security plan

“We are doing this to ensure that the security
will cover the delegations and spectators from petty crimes and to control the
traffic,” he said.
Del Rosario said a minimum of 50,000 people are
expected to troop in to Tagum City during the games.
He mulled of implementing a total gun ban during
the span of the Palaro.
Del Rosario said a total of P60-Million has been
allocated for the games.
He said the local government is able to raise
P10-Million from solicitation with the cooperation of the private sector.
Basilio Manaay, coordinator of the Palarong
Pambansa 2015 of the Department of Education Davao Region said Region 11
aims to hit No. 5 this year given the intensive training of athletes early
April this year.
He said best athletes are selected to represent
the region in the competitions.
Manaay revealed that a total of P10,825,760 for
meals, equipment and incentives have been allotted for Davao Region’s
