IGaCoS Oplan Semana Santa a success



ISLAND GARDEN CITY OF SAMAL- City Mayor Aniano P. Antalan lauded the successful implementation of Oplan  Semana Santa 2015.

The oplan achieved  zero casualty and had ensured safe and secure long vacation of tourists the Mayor bared during the Monday Convocation of  officials and employees hosted by the Philippine National Police- IGaCoS at Samal Gym last April 6.

Antalan was grateful to the laudable cooperation and harmonious coordination of more than 500 security forces from various local and national agencies during the activated Incident Command System (ICS) for the Oplan Semana Santa 2015  just to ensure  the safety and security  of church and resort goers in the island.

“I am giving you a very satisfactory rate for achieving the no casualty goal during the Holy Week and long vacation in our island”,  Antalan said.

City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Officer and Acting Incident Commander (IC) Janus D. Rafailes  in behalf of City Mayor Antalan as the IC said that no casualty was reported during the religious practice and the long holiday except for two incidents of nearly drowning but were successfully revived.

Among those who joined the operation were from PNP-IGaCoS, Regional Maritime Unit, BFP, Philippine Coast Guard,  Naval Forces of Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) OPNS,   Air Force TOG 11, Task Force Samal, IGaCoS DRRM, City Health Office, Kabalikat Civicom, City Mayor’s Office and City Investment and Tourism Office who keep posted in strategic areas and resorts for the whole duration of the activity. Gracing the activity during the Send-off of forces last April 2 were DILG-CLGOO Rosario Laid, OCD Regional Director  RGen Loreto Rirao and Sangguniang Panlungsod DRRM Committee Chairman Hon.
