International Organization for Migration supports ‘Tindog ComVal’ Movement


COMPOSTELA VALLEY PROVINCE,(April 18 (PIA) The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has affirmed its support to the “Tindog Compostela Valley Movement,” by facilitating the construction of 300 houses for the homeless victims of typhoon Pablo.

Rizalino “Jorie” de los Santos IOM Provincial Coordinator said the IOM is committed to finish 110 houses apportioned to:  New Bataan- 42 units; Compostela- 46 units and;  Montevista- 22 units.  Construction of other houses are still on-going, with 7 units in New Bataan, 5 in Compostela, 10 in Monkayo, 19 in Montevista, and 39 in Nabunturan.

 He said a single detached type, per unit has an allocation of P35,000.00 to P38,000.00. 

“These houses are constructed just near the damaged dwelling of the typhoon  victims,” De los Santos said.

 Aside from shelter assistance, the IOM also distributed Family Emergency Shelter Kits to 6,653 family victims in Laak-1,900 families; Nabunturan- 592; Montevista-  577; Monkayo- 2,303 and;  New Bataan– 1,231 families.

The IOM also provided 2,273 solar lamps to the areas ravaged by the typhoon.  (grace almedilla/ gilbert m. cabahug, ids-comval)
