PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte, May 13, 2015 - Nearly 100
Panaboans benefited from the special passporting activity conducted by
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in partnership with Panabo Public
Employment Service Office (PESO).
“This is a yearly activity that caters new passport application
and renewal, one of the priority projects of Mayor James Gamao to aid residents
who want to work or travel abroad”, said Panabo PESO Manager Cherelle Espinosa.
"Applicants have to submit their documents in the office a
week before the activity for pre-evaluation so that they may experience faster
and smooth processing during the passporting day”, she added.
Documents are evaluated in the PESO before the applicants will
proceed to the DFA Mindanao Office in Ecoland, Davao City.
"This is my first time to apply for a passport so I grabbed
this opportunity because I heard that that is it is more convenient. I am
preparing for work abroad," said Melanie Vistal, 21.
Gloria Alilin, 69, a retired government employee, said that she
is happy with the service, being in the first batch to finish the processing as
early as eleven o’clock in the morning. She added that she is grateful that
anytime after 30 working days, her passport will be ready in case her daughter
living abroad will invite her for vacation.
Espinosa revealed that they are preparing to conduct more
special passporting activities this year and for the coming years. (Erick Etis
