DAVAO DEL NORTE, May 15 (PIA) - - The number of
crimes in the Davao del Norte decreased during the Palarong Pambansa 2015.
Police Provincial Director PSSupt. Samuel
Gadingan revealed during an interview recently that the volume of crimes
declined during the biggest national sporting competition as the security
forces converged and became more visible in the whole province.
According to the data from the Davao del Norte
Provincial Police Office (DNNPO), only 78 crimes were reported from May 4-10,
which was lower than the previous weeks. Out of the crimes reported, 48 were
index crimes and 30 were non-index crimes.
The data also showed that from March 30 to May
3, the weekly crime volume ranged from 103 to 141.
PSSupt. Gadingan said that the visibility of the
police with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and local force
multipliers like the barangay police auxiliaries and civic organizations
Gadingan bared that a Joint AFP-PNP Action Center (JAPAC) were placed in all
the roads going to the billeting areas and playing venues.
He said that they will evaluate with the officials of the
army if JAPAC will continue after the Palaro.
The provincial
government of Davao del Norte hosted the 2015 Palarong Pambansa on May
