community,” announced Regional Director of DSWD Priscilla N. Razon
during the municipal orientation in San Isidro, Davao Oriental.
KALAHI-CIDSS NCDDP Community Development Specialist Nick Elvi Digol,
said the main objective of the activity is to introduce KALAHI-CIDSS
NCDDP to the beneficiary-communities.
“In this activity, attendees are oriented about the program and its underlying requirements for implementation,” Digol said.
Also discussed at the orientation were conditions for local
government (LGU) participation and size of block grants to eligible
LGUs.
Eligible are 4th to 6th class municipalities with poverty incidence
higher than the national average of 25% based on the 2009 small area

Pagsuporta” (Manifesto of Support), a symbolic act to signify the
commitment of LGU officials, DSWD officers, and beneficiaries to work
together in reducing poverty through KALAHI CIDSS- NCDDP.
KALAHI CIDSS- NCDDP is the expansion program into a national scale of
operations of the community driven development (CDD) approach, which
was tried and proven effective by Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan –
Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).
From 2003 to 2013, Kalahi-CIDSS has completed 746 community sub-projects in Davao Region.
“I am immensely thankful that DSWD continues to support different
areas in Region XI. Rest assured that we will give our full support to
make the implementation successful in our municipality. Yes, we can do
it because of the sustained assistance from DSWD,” San Isidro Mayor
Justina MB. Yu said.
To run from 2014 to 2019, KALAHI-CIDSS NCDDP bears a Php 9.3 billion
