The DPWH-XI Regional Office was awarded a plaque of recognition as “Regional Office of the Year” for CY 2012. This was announced Thursday on the occasion of the 115thAnniversary of the DPWH.
No less that President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III bestowed the award on DPWH-XI Regional Director Mariano R. Alquiza. The award read:” In recognition of the exemplary performance of its officials and employees in accomplishing projects in accordance with targets and approved plans and specifications. Given this 20th day of June, 2013 at the DPWH Head Office, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila. (SGD) Rogelio L. Singson, Secretary.”
The award boosted the moral and pride of all the employees of the regional office and its 8 district engineering offices. The DPWH-XI bested 15 other regional offices nationwide.
“I would like to extend my most profound thanks to all those who in one way or the other helped and buoyed our morale and spirit to go with relentless vigor in pursuing our assigned tasks.” Dir. Alquiza said. Director Alquiza also thanked all the staff and employees and urged them to work even harder, “if we are to maintain our status as best regional office”, he added.
The DPWH-XI is presently implementing 336 infra projects worth Php. 7,186,584 billion.
“We will continue to serve the people of region eleven according to the guidance of our Secretary of “Right Project, with the Right Quality, at the Right Cost, delivered Right on Time made by the Right People. This is in accordance to the President’s mandate for “Daang Matuwid”, Engr. Alquiza said. (DPWH XI-PIO)
