PANABO CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE January 30, 2014 (PIA) –The City Government of Panabo through the City Health Office (CHO) received recognition for being the 3rd Top Performing City Health Unit (CHU) in the province of Davao del Norte during the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation for Equity and Effectiveness ( ME3) Conference and Recognition to Local Government Unit (LGU) Partners last January 17, 2014 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel.
The purpose of the conference is to provide a venue to review the health programs of the different LGU and improve the strategy of delivery of its health care services. One of the highlights during the conference was the giving of awards to LGU’s based on the scorecards released by the Department of Health which implemented the health programs that will address the concerns of their constituent.
This initiative was meant to recognize the LGU’s contribution in providing quality health services to the people.
Furthermore health workers are now provided with information and breakthroughs concerning common diseases being encountered by the Panaboans.
According to City Health Officer Dr. Emelda T. Bendijo that the program is necessary to provide a unified approach in dealing with the health problems of the people. “The CHO shall continue to provide whatever needs in protecting the health of our residents,” said by Dra. Bendijo.
To date, CHO is providing an affordable and free access to health care as one of the strategies in alleviating poverty in the city. The Emergency Clinic and Safe Birthing Facility are fully operational and have already served a great number of patients especially to the underprivileged constituents.(Mark Anthony G.
