DAVAO City -To date, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has sent a total of 62,022 family food packs to families affected by Tropical Depression Agaton in the three provinces of Davao Region.
This was bared by Director Priscilla N. Razon, DSWD. “Apart from this number, we have augmented last night 12,000 family food packs to DSWD Caraga Region to cover the affected areas in Agusan Del Sur such as Rosario, San Francisco, Bayugan City, Prosperidad, Trento and Esperanza.”
The department has also provided affected families with non-food items like blankets, pails, mosquito nets, malong, plastic mats, underwears, slippers, bowls, ladles, frying pans and other cooking utensils.
Director Razon said affected families in Region XI have reached 74,453 with 355,174 members.
Further, based on the reports from local government units, DSWD record shows 33 municipalities and 168 barangays were affected, 63 evacuation centers were put up serving 7909 families, 20 reported casualties, six persons went missing and 30 persons were injured. (DSWD/Carmela Cadigal-Duron)
